Each year during the first two weeks of August the small town of Marciac in south-western France hosts one of the world's finest jazz festivals, with a full programme of free concerts during the day in the main square (Place de la Mairie), as well as exhibitions and late-night jams. A marquee is erected to host the main evening performances as the town is flooded with jazz artists and aficionados. Evening shows also take place in an outdoor arena.

If you want more details, the Festival has a good website at jazzinmarciac.com
